Killers caught

The Red Star reports that two (alleged) acomplices to a 2nd degree felony murder have been taken into custody: "Two charged in slaying outside north metro store".

Two men were charged Monday with aiding and abetting a second-degree felony murder in the shooting death of another man Friday on W. Broadway in north Minneapolis.
The person believed to be the shooter remains at large.

The victim, Shedrick Turner, 26, was pronounced dead about 1:30 p.m. at 911 W. Broadway.

Charged were David W. Allen, 31, and David I. Grady, 25, both of Minneapolis. According to the criminal complaint, a friend of the victim had argued with others inside the Digital City store at 905 W. Broadway before the shooting.

The streets are cleaner now, but that won't bring Mr. Turner back.

This was a particularly egregious killing; it occurred in broad daylight on a busy street. But this is Minneapolis, after all.

Furthermore, the cowards shot the victim in the back (of the neck).

Dr. Daniel Davis of the Hennepin County medical examiner's office said Turner was shot in the back of his neck. The bullet severed his brain stem and exited through his nose, the complaint said.
