Minneapolis Murder Occurs At Same Time As Meeting On Violence

Unbelieveable.

Yet another Minneapolis murder occurred almost simultaneously with the CODEFOR crime meeting, as reported by informal Rambix contributor The Watcher (of which the report will curl your hair, if not already curly).

First the murder as reported by WCCO News: "One Killed In North Minneapolis Shooting":

(WCCO) Minneapolis One person is dead after a shooting in North Minneapolis Thursday afternoon.

Police responded to shooting at West Broadway and Freemont Avenue North around 3 p.m.

Investigators said the victim, in his late teens to early 20s, was sitting in a Ford Contour in a parking lot when he was shot.

No one is in custody. Police have not released a description of the suspect.
Chalk another one up on your tally, KvM.

Now on to The Watcher's report on today's CODEFOR meeting he attended today:

Info from the CODEFOR meeting:

There have been 11 robberies in the past 48 hours in the 4th Precinct (this includes the Cleveland neighborhood). Young black males; armed; at least one wearing a gorilla mask (!?!). There were 7 robberies on 3/7 and 4 on 3/8. Mostly between 5:30 and 9pm, leading the coppers to believe that they are juveniles. Semi-automatic pistols were used. The suspects are believed to be the same ones from January of this year. One suspect wore a "monster" mask in some of those robberies.
Luckily, there are 4 robbery detectives working on this as we speak.
Also, a huge amount of stolen vehicles were reported in the 4th Precinct. There were 44 Asian cars stolen last week, mostly by a group of young Asian males.
For the 5th Precinct, there were 11 robberies for the week. Two bad areas mentioned by the coppers are the 3100 block of Pillsbury Ave S and 2900 Pleasant Ave S.
In the 2800 block of Grand Ave S, a woman was robbed, grabbed by the neck, and pushed into her car. The robber fled when she screamed.
For Downtown, there's a new beat patrol made up of Hennepin County and Mpls coppers. We'll see if they make an impact.
Until next time,
Peace and Chicken Grease

I don't even know what to say anymore. The intifada continues.

And thanks to The Watcher for his report on the CODEFOR meeting.
