Red Alert - Uptown Minneapolis crime escalating
As documented in this blog starting in the spring and throughout the summer and fall, violent crime in Minneapolis, particularly Uptown Minneapolis has been out of control. What the statistics don't show is that these violent acts are not gang-on-gang or criminal-on-criminal, they are criminal on innocent people.
The recent rash of violent robberies has targeted some of our most vulnerable citizens - the latest case a mother and her two year old daughter who live in the Uptown area. This follows the previous incident (also the previous post) in which a young woman going to the gym was carjacked.
The Red Star will likely bury the story. They won't connect this latest insult to the multitude of violent incidents that have plagued the Uptown area since spring of 2005. It's all been documented in Rambix and the Red Star, and remains in the archives. The average person may see the story, but will dismiss it as an isolated incident. Little do they know that it isn't isolated, and they are in danger in Uptown.
As of the time of this posting, the Minneapolis Police have not issued a crime alert. The online articles do not give a suspect description, so people do not know what to look for.
We're not trying to be alarmist, but be forewarned: You are in danger visiting Uptown Minneapolis until mayor Ryback can gain control of his city.
