Police Seek Public’s Help in Locating Level III Sex Offender

On Saturday May 20, 2006 at 5:46 PM Saint Paul Police responded to Duluth Street and Minnehaha Avenue E. on a report of a male in his car masturbating while trying to lure two young girls to his vehicle. This incident was witnessed by a passerby on a bicycle who told the children to go home and chased off the suspect.

Police were able to locate the two children, ages 6 and 7-years-old, and the
witness. The children were unharmed and returned to their parents. The witness picked the suspect, Kerry Dean Stevenson DOB: 4/29/55, out of a photo line-up. Stevenson is a level III sex offender with numerous convictions throughout the Metro area for similar incidents involving young children. It appears that Stevenson was released from probation on May 15th of this year and is registered to live in Minneapolis.

Stevenson is a white male; 5’9” tall; about 180 pounds; with medium length, brown, hair; brown eyes; a moustache and goatee. Stevenson was driving a 1989, red, two door, Buick Reatta with MN license EMP-007.

Saint Paul Police have issued a pick up and hold for probable cause felony lewd conduct and attempted abduction. Stevenson remains at large and has a high likelihood to re-offend.
