Out Of Control - Another Uptown Attack

The police have previously described the violence in Minneapolis as out of control. What could better illustrate that than yet another Uptown Minneapolis attack, less than a month after a brutal murder - in nearly the same location: "Woman escaped attack in Uptown Saturday".

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has learned of an attempted attack that occurred on the same Uptown street where Michael Zebuhr was murdered – but just this past Saturday.

An employee at a Calhoun Square business was chased to her car at approximately 11:30 Saturday night by at least two men. The woman did get to her car, but the men tried to break in after her, threatening her with a screwdriver.

She eventually was able to drive away, unharmed.
What kind of animals have been let loose upon Minneapolis?

Management at Calhoun Square sent a memo to tenants, alerting them of this attempted attack. It recommended employees take additional safety measures.

People who live and shop in Uptown had various responses to the news.

"I don't live very far from here either, so it's a huge concern,” said Sally Combs.
This robbery crime wave in Uptown in the spring of 2005 also resulted in Calhoun Square business owners warning their employees to be careful.

In other words, we've been here before.

Can it get any worse? I'm afraid it can, because the city leaders aren't leading, and the police can't do it all by themselves.

What are you going to do now, Mr. Mayor?
