Violent robbers terrorize South Minneapolis, Hamline & Macalester Colleges

More details are emerging on the explosion of violent crime across Minneapolis in particular, and the Twin Cities in general. Meanwhile, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Ryback is concerned about "Reweaving the urban fabric". Police Chief McManus is nowhere to be seen.

You won't read this in the Red Star or other liberal "information" sources, so let's get right to it.

We'll start with South Minneapolis. The Minneapolis PD has issued an updated crime alert, in which the number of armed robberies has grown:

What the police are doing

The Minneapolis Police Department is aggressively investigating all of these cases. The 3rd Precinct has placed extra officers in uniform and plainclothes in the area of the robberies each night. This extra staffing will continue until the suspects are caught and the robberies stop. It is our top priority to identify and arrest those responsible.
Meanwhile in the 3rd Precinct, sector 1, there have been an astonishing 19 armed robberies, 8 of which were aggravated (which means that a weapon was used and/or great bodily harm was done to the victim). A crime alert has been issued:

3rd Precinct-Sector One January 30, 2006

Facts:

Since January 1, there have been 19 robberies of person in Sector One (the East Phillips, Midtown, Ventura Village and Phillips West neighborhoods). Eight of the robberies were aggravated, which means that a weapon was used and/or great bodily harm was done to the victim. The incidents occurred throughout Sector One. Four of the robberies were carjackings. Weapons used have included handguns and knives; sometimes the robbers have implied they had weapons. Victims have been pushed to the ground, struck, or otherwise assaulted by the suspects.

If you have any information on these robberies, please contact the Robbery Unit at 612-673-2941.

Suspect description:

Suspect descriptions vary and include males and females of various races. Juveniles have been involved in some of the robberies.
It's interesting to note that the suspect descriptions encompass a wide variety - in other words, all the animals are getting into the game in Minneapolis.

It's ironic how the liberals, when debating Minnesota's Conceal and Carry legislation, clucked about how the city would turn into the "Wild West". Well, as it turns out, it is the Wild West, but it has nothing to do with Conceal Carry. Find me one permit holder in this group of criminal beasts.

Meanwhile, across the river in St. Paul, the liberals at Macalester and Hamline Colleges are under siege by criminals with weapons. Rambix wishes nothing but the best for these people, but this is what happens when liberals go soft on crime.

Fox 9 News is leading the 9:00 news hour with the college campus robbery story.
