More violent crime in south Minneapolis

I barely finished posting this, when I received notice of this from the Minneapolis PD:

In the last week there were two reported robberies in Sector 3.

Robbery #1 Occurred on the 4800 block of Wentworth Ave. S. at 11:45pm on Aug. 21. Suspects asked victim for the time then demanded the victims wallet and cash. These suspects brandished a gun to the victim. Suspects are described as two black males, ages 16-20, 5'9" to 6' tall, light build, both wearing baseball caps.

Robbery #2 Occurred on the 5600 block of Harriet Ave. S. at 7:45 pm on Aug. 22. Suspects approached the victim while she was walking up to her front door, demanded cash and brandished a gun. Victim drove the two suspects to a nearby ATM and gave cash to them. Suspects left two bikes in the alley. Suspect description is two black males, one was 20- 22 years of age, 5'11", and medium build. The other was 18 - 19 years of age, 5'7", and medium build.

This area, for those who aren't local, is a busy, well-traveled area of south Minneapolis. It's home to families and children, and a lot of good people (yes, even the liberals). An armed robbery at 7:45 pm in this type of an area is extremely troubling, and indicative of a loss of control. Rambix has a theory on why some of this is happening, but it's very un-PC. Maybe someday (Hint: It has some government involvement).

Mayor Ryback - get control of your city!
