Minneapolis Police send alert for Uptown robberies

Apparently the Red Star reporters are all away at diversity training, because there is still not a peep about the resumption of the staggering onslaught of violent Uptown Minneapolis robberies. The same group is now suspected of 25+ armed robberies of visitors, tourists, and workers in the popular entertainment area of Minneapolis. Isn't this news to the Red Star reporters? See Rambix' prior post for the latest.

Here's the Minneapolis Police email alert:

Recently there has been 5 robberies in the Uptown area that have similarities. It appears that they are following people out of the Uptown area bars, who appear intoxicated, to victimize. Also, there has not been another robbery since July 30.

The suspects are all black males, the age range has been from 18-30, some of the reports state that the suspect(s) speaks in accented English (ed. - Somali perhaps?), and are about 5’10” to 6’0” tall.

These people have either been standing on the street and as the victim approaches they use a handgun to demand money, or they have been walking in front of the victims and turned around to confront the victims with a handgun.

If you have any information on any of these crimes or suspects please contact the Minneapolis Police Department, Robbery Unit at 612-673-2941.
Rambix suggests that if you have plans to hang out in Uptown Minneapolis in the near future that you wear your Kevlar vest and take your self-defense tool - preferably .40 caliber or higher. Good luck. And thank you incumbant mayor running for re-election Ryback.
